I have worked with staff of all levels within
organisations from
Directors to shop floor workers to gain an understanding of the current
business processes before beginning the design process. In many cases
this is in itself valuable to the customer as it usually uncovers
misunderstandings within the business.
Customer requirements of a system can vary from the
well defined to the slightly vague. Working with the customer's staff
and any associated organisations, the requirements and objectives of the
system will be formally stated giving a common and agreed starting
point.
Following the customer requirements, I have
designed and collaborated with third parties in the design of new systems as well as enhancements to existing systems and
software packages. A few examples are;
-
Interfaces to/from SAP by Shop Floor applications.
-
Standard Product Costing enhancements to an existing software package.
-
Shop Floor Data Collection interfaces to a Time And Attendance system.
-
A web based image distribution system.
